Working knowledge of inventory management, eyewear sales, and basic financial management.

Extensive experience and understanding of all aspects related to operations of a modern optical dispensary.
Measure patients’ bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance and optical centers of eye, using measuring devices.
Evaluate prescriptions in conjunction with patients’ vocation and avocational visual requirements.Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit client needs. Ensure patients are properly educated regarding their vision prescription and available options.
Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements as well as optical prescriptions.
Sell goods such as contact lenses, spectacles, sunglasses and other goods related to eyes.
Heat, shape or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust and repair eyeglasses to fit clients using pliers and hands.
Show customers how to insert, remove and care for their contact lenses and eyeglasses.
Determine patients’ current lens prescriptions using lensometers or lens analyzers and patients’ eyeglasses.
Maintain emphasis on profitable operations while satisfying patient needs.Constantly assess financial performance and institute appropriate enhancements in consultation with the doctor.
Work with manager and doctors to ensure comprehensive completion of all operational tasks.
Perform administrative duties such as tracking inventory and sales, submitting patient insurance information, maintaining patient records, collecting patient payments and submitting work orders.
Arrange, maintain and clean optical displays.
Ensure that all dispensary-related objectives are met.
Work with area labs, frame reps and contact lens vendors to negotiate pricing and servicing.
